This is just a quick PSA to let people know that explicit images of any kind are not allowed in group threads or comments, or indeed anywhere else on the site. The only exceptions are NSFW blog posts and NSFW story chapters (but NOT cover images). This was not previously in the FAQ despite always being our policy, which was a mistake on our part. It has been added and anybody who was in violation of this rule previously has not been punished, only warned.
I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

I'm unsure how that's a contradiction. If I wanted to refer specifically to embedded images, I would have said embedded images.
So, does this mean the R34 group(s) has/have been disbanded? It's a group entirely dedicated to the stuff, so I assume the answer is yes?
I don't understand this. So, it's not allowed to post NSFW images even in groups that are NSFW oriented? "Clopfics" group for example. Are they not allowed to discuss the very thing they're about, and post images related to those topics?
This rule is one of them most stupid I have ever heard of. There's even is a damn maturity filter, which obviously means this site allows NSFW material. Why not images? Let the owners of the groups decide if they want NSFW images in their own groups, rather than dictating a single policy that goes over all. It doesn't make any sort of sense.

Short answer is no. Scystorm, creator of the clopfics group, had always policed his group very well for NSFW images.
1201249 I'm not certain how to explain then. To me, an image is something you can view without having to leave the website. Maybe you really should clarify then if you feel a link to an image is also breaking the rules.

Because you can't mark entire groups as NSFW and filter them with the View Mature option. In addition, this has always been our policy, we have just been very lax on enforcing it until now.

How will you go about this? Case-by-case? Or just slam down the mod-hammer and have the delinquent clarify his intent?

Okay, let's say I am in a group where we discuss riffing (hosted externally, as it is not allowed on the site), and someone links a to a perticular story, but THAT PAGE has the NSFW/R34 stuff on it, you technically linked to NSWF pictures, even though it does have text inbetween.
Would that be considerd an offense?

I'd probably take that on a case by case basis. I would probably never ban for it, unless there was clear intent to link directly to those images.

I don't really see a problem with this, there's countless other ways to get at and/or discuss these images.
Besides, I don't see how we have much of a right to complain about a rule on this site that doesn't effect it's main purpose, the stories. Not too mention we're just the parasitic bastards who are leeching off these guys wallets (and time and effort) just so we can read fan-made stories about ponies, granted delightful ponies but the facts remain the same.

Sir you make absolutely no sense what so ever. Granted a story is simply text on a page, but the images it implies is the same as if the author placed a picture instead. We have spoiler tags, a mature filter, NSFW filters, even site and group moderators yet you say this?
I really would like to know the honest reason why you're doing this. I know it's your site and your rules (it's my way or the highway mentality), but what's wrong with mature pictures in groups SPECIFICALLY started for said reasons? You guys are cutting your nose off to spite your own face here. You are honestly taking this to the levels of stupid.
You have an amazing site that allows a myriad of ways to allow the patrons of this place to find what interests them the most, but you cut off some of the media why? I just don't see the real justification (besides you just saying don't do it) for this decision. Were you pressured by outside sources? Are you afraid you're losing control of this train? For instance, the rape group. You're not going to be surfing through their forums unless you find it interesting. You don't watch something you hate, because you hate it.
Obviously this group has very explicit content, so even joining means you approve of it. So why the hell is it now mod-hammer dropping to post a NSFW picture, in a ridiculously NSFW group filled with NSFW forums?

Different opinions from different people. I'm making an assumption that Paultron doesn't take too kidnly to NSFW as Knight did seeing as this is becoming a thing now that Paultrons taken over.

These are just assumptions of course seeing as I don't know shit about the creators of this site.
