So its that time once again kids, Uncle Dravens Update Corner. Staring me, Uncle Draven. I know some of you are wondering where the next chapter of Shades is, and instead of messaging everyone individually, I decided to a big post. Writing for Shades has slowed a bit because of my new job that has me working 3 to 11 and leaving me very tired when I get home, I usually read a few stories and fall asleep. Plus with me picking up as much overtime as I can get, it hasn't helped with the writing process. My good buddy DannyJ has agreed to assist me on getting a scene or two done to cut down on the time it takes to get the chapter out. This chapter is one I have been wanting to get to for a while now, but life just got in the way. So that's it really, I have been working as much as possible to get a car and get things back on track for myself. I swear that the chapter will actually get done. As for my second story, I put it on hold in favor of another one I want to write that I have more inspiration for, called Dreaming of Loyalty. If you are curious, feel free to ask.
Also, I just finished watching Equestria Girls and I have to say that I really enjoyed it. I honestly don't get what people were flipping out about, but a good portion of this fandom is really self entitled and love to complain when they don't get there way. Also, I loved Sunset Shimmer, she was awesome. She seemed a bit stereotypical mean girl until the end when she showed her true colors and thugged out, that was awesome. I wont give any details so I don't spoil anything for those who haven't seen it. Does anybody know the name of the hippie looking guy with the dreads that was in the eco kids clique, I thought he looked pretty awesome. Also, Flash Sentry was alright, would have liked to learn a bit more about him.

okay well this is good isn't it?, previously you stated you didn't have a job and now you do so things are moving in the right direction. :)
I myself saw the new movie a few days a go an I as well like it, I who'd have paid matinee price for it and not go out disappointed. The personality traits of the humanised versions of the main cast was still there, and the comedy as well.
I particularly like Fluttershy´s portrayal in the movie, ironically I can't help but feel Fluttershy was more realized as a character in this movie they she is in the series, the lessons she learns in different episodes never seems to stick.
Actually that is one of the small things I do like whit shades, even if she so far have bean as afraid as can be for Hayato. Something that is logical to a degree considering what humans represent, something never previously seen before and the air of mystery that surrounds them.
She still have realistic character growth to her, and she seams more secure with who she is.
This may just be me trying way to hard to find something that isn't there, still intentional or not that is how I see her.
As for the villain in the movie i didn't expect sunset shimmer to actually be originally a pony, a former student of Celestia faller from glory non the less.
That did take me with surprise, but a pleasant one.
It did make the whole hate/ rivalry between her and sparkle more believable and interesting then rather im just it being "the mean girl" and am going to be an ass to the new student.
Her daemon for did look awesome and the final battle did have nice visuals.
I cant help to find it funny when they use or threaten to use the elements on someone,
this returning theme of "conversion to good bye use of force" that is present in the show is an interesting subtle moral statement indeed.
If you cant make he/she/it see things as you do, banish them out of the country or petrify it.
In "keep calm and flutter on" for example, Fluttershy did attempt to stare Discord to submission using brute force, not to ignore Sparkle who did try and look for a reforming spell which I don't think anyone of the 6 who'd have hesitated to use if it came down to it.
They who'd have been okay with eradicate everything that makes Discord him, essentially killing him and making a new more compliant version in his stead, but non the less effectively killing him, all for the grater good of the state
That is honesty quiet a dark trait, and it is present true out the show. the world is a lot more serious than one might think at first glance, they for one don't fuck around when it comes to state security.
All threats must be put down, no compromise, the end justifies the means. All sanctioned of course by the gods
I perhaps don't see Abstracts conspiracy theories to be that far fetched...
Flash Sentry was fun as you said, and I do think we will see him in season 4, if nothing eals as a background pony(hasbro never passes up a chance to make and sell new toys).
Im glad the romance thing was played down to simple blushing, wouldn't make much sense if she where to fall in love with a member of a so alien species that quickly.
But the pony doppelgangers on the other hand who knows. speaking of doppelgangers still don't get why sunset or sparkle didn't have any.
oh and lastly this Dreaming of Loyalty do sound interesting, think you can tell what genera it will be, and perhaps a bit of what we may expect from it?

Well in Equestria Girls, Pinkie Pie did ask Twilight if she had a sister named Twilight that lived in the city with her pet dog Spike. So I am assuming that Twilight just hasn't gone to that school yet. She is probably in some fancy private school. She is smart enough.
As for Dreaming of Loyalty, I can give you a synopsis of the story. It's nothing you wouldn't find in the description when the story is published.
Two years after the events of the Mare Do Well episode, Rainbow has long since left Ponyville and her so-called friends behind, never wanting to see them again. However when a new threat emerges in a faraway country. However with the friendship they once shared dead, Equestrias future has never looked so grim.
Basically I felt they handled the Mare Do Well episode horribly. They humiliated Rainbow, embarrased her, and when she went to them for help, they laughed in her face, instead of talking to her about her bragging like real friends. Instead of the ridiculous "Oh haha, I forgive you", she ended up breaking off her friendship with them and left ponyville. And incase you are wondering, she is still the bearer of Loyalty. After all, she didn't betray anybody, they betrayed her.

Just gave it another watch and yeah that is a good point that is indeed mentioned, so that kinda explains human twilight´s where about. Leaves shimmer but she being the antagonist i can let that slide, she probably just have her locked up the here basement, or murdered.. if you want to go that far
As for the "Dreaming of Loyalty" thing that dose sound interesting for sure, and I agree Mare Do Well is one of the weakest episodes so far made.
I myself i a hard time sympathize whit rainbow dash in that episode, on a good day she is howering somewhat close to obnoxiousness. but on that episode she broke that line tenfold, she became the embodiment bitchiness and annoyance.
But i guess it was a necessary step in her character development, doesn't make the episode brilliant, in fact i who'd go so far and say it bad.
Anyways rambling aside, awesome premis i'm sure it will be a nice read.
Now i know you probable left this out for a reason, not to say deadlines are hard to sett up and meet in every artistic processes, im still gonna be so bold and ask if you can provide a rough estimate when next chapter will be out. This month, middle of next, beginning of September. etc?
