We used to have a basic report system a while ago, but due to some unforeseen consequences it had to be taken down. For a long time the only proper way to submit reports was to PM a moderator, which is woefully inefficient and would usually result in a long wait to have your problem resolved. No more!
With this new report system, you can now report Groups, Group Threads, Users, Stories, and Blogs for rule violations. One important thing to note is that since you can now report Users, we ask that you report spam bots under Users, since we can just bulk delete their comments easily after banning them.
All you have to do is click on the Report button, which will take you to a separate Report page. There, simply follow the on screen instructions to submit your report. Please be as clear and detailed as possible in order for us to process your report in a timely fashion! Also note that with this new system, it is MUCH easier for us to detect abuse. Please do not submit bogus reports, or we may be forced to take action against your account!
Please utilize this new system as much as possible for when you need moderator action taken. It will streamline the process for everybody involved. I will be hanging around in the thread to answer any potential questions you may have about the system.
EDIT: I am surprise that this is a concern, but this system is not automated in any way. That is to say, you can't get someone banned by submitting 10 bogus reports against them. Admins review all reports on an individual basis. This system is impossible to "exploit."

Hopefully this isn't an automatic system. The last thing we need are bans being handed out because of reasons that are stupid, trivial, taken out of context, et cetera, et cetera. Mods do get the final say in whether or not a ban is administered, right?
Otherwise, I have nothing to bring up. I'm pretty optimistic. Let's see where this goes and may the train stay on the tracks.
I think it speaks volumes about the site that I barely ever see anything that I would consider needed to report.

Given this reporting system, are there checks in place that would prevent groups of trolls from harassing folks by synched attacks of reports on what they don't like? And are there checks in place for those that seek to use this to go after others they don't like with the above?

I ask given the nature of certain groups and people that are in the nature to harass others, and well, the report seems a very clear way if there isn't some form of penalty for doing this, well, it will end poorly for all involved. That is all i see as a big worry.

The check is a human being looking at the filed reports and using the information provided to determine if it's legitimate or not.
Can I file a complaint about not being able to exploit the system? What good is a system you can't exploit? Please add some kind of loophole so that we all have something to abuse or complain about. Thank you.

I know human tag works for humanized pieces, but it's also a catch-all for crossovers and HiE fics, neither of which catch my attention much, so I gotta wade through a large amount of stuff to find what I'm lookin' for.

1: Could we get a full list of all reportable violations in each category on the actual report submission form so that if someone does not know if something is reportable they can double check before filing?
2: How does one go about reporting improper voting on stories or comments since there is no specific thing to "point" the report at? Or is this not reportable?
So... I know you're probably pretty busy, and might not get to answering this, but where is the rules list? I don't remember seeing any list when I created my account. I probably sound really stupid asking that too.
