Just on "Broken Spirit"; I notice there's a lot of confusion of the first chapter, so I'm here to clear it up I guess. and any future comments asking or commenting on this topic will be directed here. c:
I'm well aware Discord is stronger than Twilight Sparkle; he can bend the universe for God's sake, but the point of the first chapter is not to show that Twilight is stronger than Discord, it's to show the strength of Alicorn's Power. As seen in Distorted Worlds, Alicorn's Power was a book of magic crafted by the gods themselves, and the spells in there are stronger than the elements.
If they're used by someone that is not ready, especially any of the dark magic, it is catastrophic the damage it can do. Discord used a simple magic-deactivation spell when he wasn't ready and killed the king and queen, two very, very powerful gods, and creators of the sun and moon before they passed on the tasks of looking after those celestial creations to their children.
And even if the user isn't super super powerful, using one of those spells, especially if it goes out of control will be. Discord had just gotten out of his stone. I imagine his magic wasn't at his full strength, and if he could never control the magic when he was younger (which caused the deaths of Aegeus and Astraia), how would trying to control it, much less protect himself from it be any different?
Anyway, in conclusion Twilight did not defeat him because she is stronger, but because she used an incredibly dangerous, off limits spell.
Wait, wasn't that, like, more than a year ago?
I would hope people could have figured it out by now.
If this spell is so powerful, how could Twilight use it in the first place, should not it be out of her limits ( or else every unicorn would be able to use the most powerful spells in the universe, not to mention that it should take years to master spell that powerful ) ?
