Aww yeah, Trixie's Friendship is Clearly Superior, chapter two. I did say 'probably Monday' in my previous post, didn't I? Oh well, guess I'm right up there with TV weather forecasters and political pundits in the area of precise prediction.
Not 100% happy with this chapter personally, but then I kind of doubt that I'll ever be (there are a few paragraphs in "My Little Pony's Little Ponies" about which I wouldn't change a single letter, but certainly no entire chapters). In the spirit of 'this is an exercise in just writing' that I mentioned in the inaugural blog post, though, it's going up anyway, to sink or swim on its own merits.
Of author's notes for this chapter, I've only got one, which is really a note about future chapters: in this one, it only happens when Trixie is caught off-guard, but in chapters to come, she will periodically use first-person (first-pony?) pronouns when it fits the flow. Some sentences would just get far too 'Trixie is Trixie the Trixie Trixie' if she stayed utterly rigorous about it. She's not a Pokemon. Just a little note so that I don't end up with a bunch of comments pointing out each 'slip' on her part.
This also seems as good a time as any to point out that this story starts 'sometime after' the last episode of Season 3, and that events of S4 will be ignored unless they happen to fit conveniently into the ongoing storyline. Well, in fact events of the first three seasons are only included if they fit my purposes anyway, but you know what I mean.
Anyway, new chapter. Chapter three (title: The Rainbow Pegasus Has Anger Issues) is under construction and the general shape of it already stamped out, but I won't be so foolish as to make any predictions for when it will be ready. Stay pony my friends!
Great! I'll get to reading this later today!
One of the biggest misconceptions about Trixie is her "third-pony" speak. She doesn't do it all the time. Heck, her most famous line, "Anything you can do, I can do better," is a perfect example.
When I write her, I tend to drop the Trixie speech when she's trying to be serious or is getting emotional. Just look at the beginning of "Magic Duel" and when she confesses about lying about the Ursa Major for why I do this. It's not until she's in complete control of a situation that she gets all "Trixie this and Trixie that."
Anyway, long rant aside, looking forward to it!

Precisely; it's an affectation, not a neurological disorder (which is a joke I didn't put in the blog above because it's strongly possible that Trixie will actually say it in a future chapter -- don't tell anyone. ).
Hope you like it when you get to it!
Now I want to see a story where Trixie actually is a Pokemon...

A wild TRIXIE appears!
Twi! Twilight! Twi!
Trixie! Trixie! Trix!
PINKIE!
Hehehe, I know I've seen some Pokemon crossovers around here, but I don't know if any of them run with the idea of treating individual ponies as pokemon types... I'm not familiar enough with Pokemon stuff to do the idea justice, but it's a cute notion.
