Fimfiction Emote Extender: Huge Update! · 11:33pm Jun 12th, 2013
Sweet Celestia, Krazy, that took you forever!
But fear not, the update is finally here!
New things:
- I've removed the remote emote loading from the script and just added them directly. This allows the script to run in Chrome. Yep! Chrome! You can now use new emotes!
- Lots of new emotes! I've added Rarity and Fluttershy tables as well as updating the A table and the Applejack table. If you're coming from Chrome and still using the old old version, you'll now have access to the emotes from the previous update as well.
Note: You may have to uninstall a previous version if you're using an older one. It doesn't get overwritten if you are.
This should simply replace the old script, as I've added proper versioning. You need GreaseMonkey (Firefox) or TamperMonkey (Chrome) to run this script.
For the next release I'll see about tossing a few more Pinkies in there and making these work on blog posts (no promises there; the editor lacks a fimfiction emote table as it is).
All the new emotes:
And still no new Pinkie Pie emotes.
Huuuh. Interesting... I have been wondering where those pictures came from...
How's it work?
Yay!

You need to be running either Firefox or Chrome and install the appropriate extension for them.
If you're using Firefox, you'll need to install Greasemonkey.
If you're using Chrome, you'll need to install Tampermonkey.
This add-on allows you to install user-made scripts that alter the behavior of sites. In this case, I've coded in extra emotes to use in the same way as the ones you currently see with fimfiction. It gives you tabs to click, which brings up more.
Once you have the extension installed, just click on the link in the main blog post and it should install automatically (with a prompt to confirm).
1140613 Hrm... I've got one button above my emotes now that says "FF," but no others...
1140620
That's intended. Since fimfiction adds spoilers to image in certain places (i.imgur.com/mmVWxDL.png ), I'd rather not be responsible for site-wide spoilerification. It's very spammy that way. You can use these in forum posts, however, and if you manually copy the links, you can use them in blog posts.
1140623 But you said
I'm not seeing any tabs to click o.O Just one button that says "FF" that doesn't do anything.

Go try it out on a forum post and get back to me. I've disabled the tables altogether in other places, so you only do get the FF table. (Unless you have, in which case I've messed something up somewhere.)
1140631 Ah. Right. Missed the bit about "forum posts."
I appear to be losing my mind. Thanks. Thought I set something up wrong.

It's all good. I would have put in a reminder in the script, but having that on the table every time you're not on a forum post would get annoying.
Firefox 21, installed over old one, getting a second FF button (and possibly no new icons) as shown:

You might have an older version that this didn't overwrite. Uninstall both, then install this one again and see if it fixes anything.
1140639
Yup, that did it. I'm curious as to why you disabled the emotes on non-forums, when the old 1.5 version seemed to work just fine?
1140653
Because knighty changed the way comments handle images. With every emote getting a huge spoiler tag, they're far more intrusive. Unfortunately, there's no way around this.
1140654
Oh, you mean everyone isn't using this?
I poked at the source, looks much nicer. Turns out you can run old 1.5 and new 1.1 in parallel, so I think I'll hang on to both so I can still use emotes in replies.

EDIT:
Or I can just comment out the test condition.

Now only if pictures didn't look ugly in blogs....

Ah, the magic of open source software.

Full code is here. Have at it!
You are beautiful! I mean that in the most platonic way possible. I've been wondering for the longest time where you all were getting those emotes and now I know!
