On the bright side, it will likely not be considered canon for the Friendship is Magic universe and probably have no affect on season 4. So if turns out to be really bad, we can just ignore it's existence.

Probably because you see the irony of Nines' words, in that sense that if he approached MLP with the same mindset, he would never became a brony in the first place, thus depriving you of many great fanfics he would never wrote.
