    Tavern Rewrite Update

I've been sitting on the completed rewrite of Tavern's second chapter for a while now, but I've got a slight problem. In the process of redoing the chapter, it grew by about four thousand words—similar to how when I redid the first chapter, it grew about two thousand words. Based on what I want to add to the third chapter, it's also going to grow a bit in the rewrite.

I feel like sharing this, so I will.

    “Marry me, Barrel!”

My head jerks up. No, I wasn’t hearing things; Barrel, my dearest friend and the hostess of The Tin Whistle, has just been proposed to by one of her fine customers.

    Formatting Question for Loving Accusations

Edit: I've decided not to mess with the story after all, but I'll leave this blog post up anyway for posterity's sake.

I think the first chapter is too long. I think it would benefit if I cut it into two smaller chapters.
(Don't panic, let me make my case first.)

    I'm calling it now.

The mane six are going to realize the true nature of the virtues they all posses/ascend to true enlightenment, and the keys that open the box that came from the Tree of Harmony are going to be formed magically from their collective awakening, or something like that.

“Have I ever told you how cute you are when you blush?”

“No, you... never.”

“Let me demonstrate...”

“...Nnhmm...”

My name is Trixie Lulamoon, and right now I’m the happiest mare in Equestria.

Or perhaps I’m only the second happiest; the honor of being first probably goes to the mare I’m currently lying on top of, her belly pressed up against mine, and her lips doing much of the same. Her name is Barrel, and I just told her I loved her. I think she loves me, too.

After we both come up for air, I do my best impersonation of one of her foxy grins. She looks up at me, eyes shining. “Trixie,” she squeaks, too happy to believe this is really happening. “This is really happening, isn’t it?”

I give her a peck on the cheek. “You’re so adorable when you say corny stuff,” I tease, and it gets a giggle out of her. I don’t have to say anything else; she understands perfectly.

Since I’m guessing she’s finding it hard to breathe, what with me all splayed out on top of her, I slide off her stomach and onto the floor. She looks into my eyes, and I into hers, and for the first time in the three months we’ve known each other we are perfectly in synch. We know what we want, and all we want right now is each other. She buries her head in the crook of my neck, much like I was doing to her not very long ago, except she isn’t crying like I was.

We lie together on the hardwood floor of my caravan, our tails entangled, our hooves wrapped around each other’s waists. I don’t mind the discomfort of the bare wood; I swear it feels like the softest of feather beds. Nowhere else would be more comfortable or feel more right. And to think, just a few minutes earlier I was bawling my eyes out because I thought I’d lost her friendship!

This is just the intro to a little something I've been working on, and I figured you guys might like it.

I'm thinking of calling the story A Pony Tale. What do you guys think?

Edit: I need to point out that I'm a long, long ways away from releasing this particular story. I just figured you guys might like to see this, and to be told that a sequel exists, in one form or another.

1065963 Stop acting like a spoiled child and say something constructive. Or nothing at all.

Hey, come on, guys. No fighting in the chat please.

I think I love you, you evil bastard.:pinkiehappy:

1066008 While I don't love single word comments like the above, I don't think this is the best way to react to them. Send a pm sure, but to publicly call them out like this I think feels a bit unkind to the author.

Well I certainly am looking forward to this story myself
Loved the first, and if this small snipped is anything to go by, the second will be equally great

certainly feels like a good opening. I also enjoyed the first one greatly and whould love to see how the rest pans out.

I give this story 10 whoopee goldbergs out of 10
