True Blue Spark

An unassuming author whose writing comes slowly. Loves romance, humor, and Spike; dislikes darkness, despair, and character-bashing. If you come away from his stories smiling, he's done his job.

Just a quick heads-up: Starting today, I'm going to be deleting comments that either request or demand a story update. If you're thinking of posting a comment like this, try reading the following short FAQ first.

Are you going to update Greenfire again?
    Yes.

    When?
    I don't know.

    Why not?
Because I have a lot more in my life than just writing.

    Change For You: Author's Notes

Hey, everyone! Change For You has been out for a few weeks now, and I'd like to thank everyone who read, voted, favorited, and/or commented on it. I really appreciate all the compliments and criticism, and I'm so glad that so many of you enjoyed reading it. And it even popped up in the feature box and the popular stories box a couple times! (If briefly. Am I the only one here who doesn't

    Change in Plans

    > Work on a one-shot fanfic, with the intent to enter it in a contest
    > Announce said intent in a blog post
    > Lose all inspiration for fanfic within a few days
    > Suddenly gain inspiration for a different fanfic, one you've had the idea for since August but never started
    > Write a little under 5,200 words in a week

So yeah, that sure is a thing that happened. o_O

    Status of the Author

Well, since this is the longest Greenfire has sat un-updated since I started, I think I should at least toss a quick heads-up here and let you all know what's going on with me. Plus this will be a nice first test of the newly reborn blog-tagging system.

Fan Works! (or would it be fan-fan works...) · 2:08am May 9th, 2013

So I've been pretty much grinning non-stop since last night. Why, you ask? Well, because the illustrious Pia-chan was kind enough to illustrate a scene from the latest chapter of Greenfire! You can see her gorgeous fan art right here on her Tumblr! I've always loved her art, especially her various adorable Sparity pieces, so to see that my fanfic had inspired her to draw something was incredibly exciting. Thank you again, Pia-chan! :D

On the topic of fan stuff, this seems like a good post to also point out the two story readings done for my old Appleshy fic, The Words Won't Come. Hero541 and munngojerrie both did an excellent job with their readings—this was a while ago, before I'd changed my pseudonym and before I'd started using this blog with any regularity, so that's why I'm bringing them up now. They can be heard here and here!

I have links to all of the above in the stories' descriptions, under "Fan Works" headers. Maybe it's presumptuous to have that "s" in there? But if more people wanted to do fan art, or fan readings, or fan whatevers for any of my stories, I would definitely be thrilled. I'll continue blogging it if/when it comes in, too. Really what thrills me the most is just the fact that people are genuinely enjoying my stories, but fan works are a very big bonus.

Anyway, Greenfire chapter 6 has about 1,500 words written so far, so I'm thinking that means it's about 30-40% done. There's a bit of a time skip, and after a comedic intrusion, Rarity and Greenfire will sit down to discuss something serious. Be prepared for more tooth-rotting sweetness. :3
