Update & Bronycon 2013!! · 2:00am May 3rd, 2013
First I want to thank all of you for your overwhelming support and understanding. Not a day goes by that I don't treasure having you as my fans and readers alike! =D So it's unanimous, I've put Rainbow's story on hold for the time being. I have no idea when my inspiration for her will return, but when it does, I'll give her the attention she deserves. Just in case any of you were worried, I had a heart-to-heart talk with Rainbow Dash and she said she completely understands, and that she wants her story to be 20% cooler than everypony else's, so she's cool with waiting.
Second, I've started work on chapter 11 of Luna's story. So that's off to a good start, and I have a clear path for this chapter. I didn't do any writing tonight, took a break to chat with some friends and help a fellow writer that was having some issues with his story. Besides, I don't want to rush anything. Oh and as for my new project which I am totally psyched about, I'll be sharing details in my next blog, in a day or so. I want to get my thoughts together, plus I am going to be starting chapter 1 any day now. Just to mess around with the idea a little and get familiar with the pony starring in it. =D
Now onto the heart of this blog! I just wanted to let you all know that I will be attending Bronycon 2013 this summer at it's new location in Baltimore Maryland, in the US. My experience last year might not have been too great, due to an issue with the purchase of autograph vouchers, but I only attending one day last year. This year I'm going for all 3 days. So I think it will be a lot more fun. Though I was thrilled to meet Nicole Oliver (Princess Celestia and Cheerilee) last year. She's really nice, and I got to chat with her for a few minutes and even gush a little about that opening scene of hers in the series pilot. It got me an autograph that called me "Her Faithful Student" =D It'd be cool if she's there at this year's as well. But so far they only have one voice actor on the list - Lee Tockar - the voice of Snips and that Seaserpent Rarity gave her tail to. I suspect more will come closer to the show date of August 2nd. So, if any of you are planning to attend this awesome event, you just might get a chance to meet me! I know I'd enjoy meeting any of you that attend.

It's great that your going to Bronycon, I can't say the same for myself. After going to Las Pegasus Unicon or whatever it was called, my wife and I have learned that con holders are a bunch of crooks, luckily our family is rather wealthy so it didn't make much difference for us, but it was still annoying. Although, we did have some fun, we made a holiday of it and ended up staying 2 more days. Vegas is great when your rich!
Anyway, have fun at BronyCon, if you meet John De Lancie, tell him that Scott Johnson thinks he has "crusty space hands".

While I can't say I've ever been to a con before, surely you've looked around enough to know that, that particular event was a rarity beyond rarities: everyone got hurt, and ultimately people worked together to try to compensate everybody. You shouldn't base your experiences off of one rotten time

But Tara Strong just seemed so I don't know...spaced out, for lack of a better term and to be more polite than my best friend was. So even if John is there, I probably won't be seeing him. Rather, I'd enjoy meeting someone like Nicole Oliver again or Andrea Libman. If I had it to do again I would have gotten Kathy Wesluck's autograph over Tara Strong's.
After last year's Bronycon, my best friend and I know not to hit up the big guest stars. It takes forever to see them, their autographs cost more and they are usually so swarmed that they just don't seem very personable, not that I blame them.

Well, I didn't want my fans to think I was just tossing Rainbow aside, plus a part of me needed convincing of that too, so I felt sharing that with you might be worthwhile.
And yes, Luna is back in the project line-up, so she'll be getting some overdue attention, which she is very happy about.
Yeah, despite baking in the sun for nearly 3 hours last year waiting to get autograph vouchers, I'm hopeful that this year's venue will be a lot better, plus I managed to save up so I can attend all 3 days and stay at a local hotel with my best friend (he's not quite the brony I am, but he enjoys the series and the fandom). I just want to have fun, network and maybe find out if my reputation has caught on at all. Maybe I'll bring a print out of my avatar to put on my badge so people can recognize me.
And I don't mind telling you I live in Pennsylvania, which is quite near NJ, so you used to live very close to me. How ironic, and now you live roughly 12 hours away, by car. I've been to Florida, but it's been years since I was down there.
Glad you're intrigued about the new story. You seemed uncertain when I was dropping hints about it before, so I had my doubts. But no worries, I won't keep you all in the dark for long. I just want to scratch down some of chapter 1 and get a feel for the two main characters before I give my big announcement. Plus I have finally have a title (still subject to change) but it helps to announce a story when I have a title.

I should really have my friend take a new pic of me that I can upload with my digital camera. But anyway I'll be more than happy to do a shout out. I'll be there for the whole thing, and will probably get very little sleep across that weekend as I plan to party hardy and have tons of fun and network with as many bronies as possible, who knows I might even get to meet some fans. One of my followers said they'll be there, hopefully others will as well. 
But at least we always have FIM!

I probably wouldn't be going were it not for my friend going with me. He knows Baltimore pretty well from being there alot, plus he has no issues with driving long distances. I like to keep my driving local, and only drive far if there is no other option. I'm just lucky he and I have been friends for years. And it's funny he's the one that got me into the artwork which ultimately got me into this fandom. But it was really inevitable, I've been into My Little Pony since the first generation, so it's no surprise that I ended up enjoying the 4th generation as well.

Tara Strong is probably the most active and energetic within the community, perhaps aside from John...I imagine she, the most, gets exhausted -- it's as you say....the VA"s are as overwhelmed by the fans as, well, the fans are

In that sense, I can understand that seeing someone less active would get you a much more personal reaction, given that they probably aren't tiring themselves out.

I'd love to tell you more but I spent most of my time waiting in line. Over 4 and half hours of the time I was there was spent waiting. After I got the three autographs from - Tara Strong, Nicole Oliver, and Andrea Libman, I had to wait while my friend also got autographs from Lauren Faust and John De Lancie. He said they were so out of it by the end it was basically here's your autograph now keep the line moving please. But I don't blame the guests, the con wasn't prepared for the turn out. They originally had 4000 tickets for sale and sold 4600. So the place was over packed and a nightmare. Wall to wall bronies. I recognized some bronies from youtube skits etc, like the world's manliest borny and that guy they yells things.
But I missed all the goodies from the vendor stands, most were gone or sold out of the good stuff by the time we got our autographs. And we missed most of the panels and activities while waiting in line. So in all honesty this will be a whole new experience this year. That's why I pulled out all the stops and am taking off plenty of time to attend the whole thing and saved some money so I can afford to go and stay at a hotel with my friend. We hope to have a much better time this year and if there is massive disorder with the autograph vouchers, we'll be skipping them all together so we can have fun with fellow bronies instead.
Like I said, you had me a tad worried about this story. But your comment has allayed my fears. And yeah I know I've been teasing you about it for a week. I just wanted to build some anticipation. I will be posting a blog about it tonight or tomorrow night. So look for it soonish. I know I'm loving it, especially since I started work on chapter 1 last night. I have a little over 1,000 words done so far!

That honestly doesn't sound like much of a good time - I mean, I can understand how that would be more than worthwhile (waiting in line for cast/crew autographs), especially if you fully had the intention of going to future cons....but just sitting around for 4 hours in line, doesn't really sound like my idea of a good time
. Still, like I said, I can see how it's more than worthwhile, especially if you already have their autographs and don't have to wait in line in the future.
Now you don't have to put up with that fuss, and can actually have some more fun with other fans and other vendors, as you say

Is it very expensive altogether, the trip? The plane, the hotel, buying stuff etc...?
Among so many other reasons, it's why I tell people (and myself
) not to feel bad for not being more active in the community or going to Cons, because the people who are most active simply have their lives set up in a way where they can, and most people aren't: frequent Con-goers have the time and money to spend everytime, without a job or other obligations holding them back etc....very few people have all that -- it's no point in feeling bad

Do me a favor? If you see the guys from "Filly Gamez" be sure to tell them how awesome they are and that they should not give up on "Welcome to Ponyville" the demo they gave us was brilliant. I played it 3 times over 
. Also if you meet Feather,she's a beautiful Australian girl that has collaborated in allot of amazing pony songs and has an angelic voice thank her for her work. Her voice in "Koroshi-Ya - Rainbow (feat. Feather)" still makes me cry every time i hear it. All in all i hope you will have fun!

But dang, where were you with such a tear jerking Rainbow Dash Song earlier this week? I had to put my RD story on hold because I just plane ran out of oomph on it. But I think more than any song helping me, I ran empty because of this new project. I'm totally psyched for it and really crushing on my new lead pony. It's gonna be awesome, even if I'm the only one who thinks so! 
I'll be posting a blog about it shortly, hopefully tonight. 
Thankfully since I'll be attending all three days, I can hopefully see some of these awesome people, network and maybe even see if I'm know by any of the attending bronies. I know I'm fairly known here on FIM, but that's about as far as I'm aware. I'll have to check out Feather's song.

Princess Luna was flying as quickly as her wings could bare. She was finally able to break away from the enemy forces and head toward the ebony tower. She could not believe what those two did! Her two trusted champions had ran off to kill Drakos on their own and end the battle without further bloodshed.
"Those foals!" Luna cursed "Have they learned nothing from their previous encounters with Drakos? He's no longer a pony...but a monster! When i get my hooves on those two they are going to regret even thinking of such an insane plan!"
It was then that she felt it...A magical shockwave emanating from the tower. "No..." Luna muttered. She looked down at the battlefield under her and notice the enemy troops suddenly going stiff and falling to the ground en mass. It was then that the Princess of the Night no longer held back. She used her magic to propel herself,braking the sound barrier.

She aimed for the level from which the magical presence was the strongest and broke throw one of the windows and skidded to a stop on the marble floor.
"Nightingale! Nightwish! Where are you! Answer me!" She began galloping throw the corridors in search of the two Champions of the Night. After a good minute she finally found her apprentice. Jaydex had his back turned to her and his head lowered. What was he looking at? After she took a few steps closer Luna realized what it was that had her faithful student's attention. Lying at his hooves was the body of a black earth pony stallion. It was Vexus...her Second Champion,on that marble floor, cold and lifeless.

"No...No it can't be...Jaydex...Tell me it ain't so!" Princess Luna trotted close to her First Champion and sat next to him.
Jaydex Nightingale turned his head toward his Princess, allowing her to see his bright blue eyes had turned red from crying. "I'm sorry Princess...I am so,so sorry. I couldn't stop him. In order to stop Drakos and his army...Vexus destroyed the Heart of Darkness...killing them both in the process."
"Why...Why Nightwish? Why couldn't you wait for us? You knew what would happened if you destroyed the Heart...and yet you did it anyway? St...Stupid!" Princess Luna now had large tears falling from her eyes. She bowed her head and nudged Vexus slightly. "You stupid,stupid pony! Why? Why did you do it? Why did you leave me? Is everypony i care about destined to die? Am i to lose everypony close to me? Am i to see them all lose their life,just to defend me, when all i want is to have them close to my heart...when all i wanted...where friends? I don't want this...I don't want to be alone. Not again...Not...again." It was then that Luna felt a pair of warm hooves embrace her in a tight hug.

"It's okay Princess...I'm here for you. I will always be here for you. Now and forever...i swear it." An empty promise was all that the unicorn Champion Jaydex could give to his beloved Princess. Luna hugged him back and began sobbing in his shoulder,unable to hold it back any longer. And sure enough,soon after he started to weep as well. Today marked the end of the war. Drakos was no more and Equestria was safe. But it had come at a terrible price,countless pony lives had been taken. Among them...Vexus Nightwish, the Second Champion of the Night, a proud earth pony, loyal comrade and beloved friend.

Thank you for sharing that and the link to the other site, but you are wrong, I listened to that Rainbow Dash song, it just might have helped. It made me teary eyed listening to it, even though I'm not big on rap, that was a great song.
But I think I need a break from 2nd person stories, plus as I said, my new idea has me in it's grip.

Yes, you are right. I really need to work on that story. It was a promise to you and i am yet to deliver! I need to spend as much time as possible into it.
While i wouldn't call it a masterpiece, i had hoped it would be to your liking my friend
I realize that without more content to it, there is not much to go by and you can't really go into depth with the characters in it,other then maybe Luna a little. Just imagine it, a millennium of isolation and loneliness have scarred her,and she clings to everyone important to her. That's why when she finds one of only two Champions dead,the two of them being the closest ponies to her...all her fears come rushing back, especially the horror of being alone again, and suffers an emotional breakdown right there. Good thing the First Champion (and Luna's personal student) Was there to comfort her. Like i said, without better knowing the characters it's hard to get too emotionally attached to them. That is why, to provide further depth i have added pictures for visual aid of Luna's determination and sorrow,as well as an audio helper with a background noise to showcase Luna's sadness.
All in all, i am very glad you enjoyed it
. I hope we learn more of your secret project soon!
