So I was watching Netflix when I stumbled upon this movie. Hypothermia, a monster movie with Michael Rooker, better known from his role in The Walking Dead. It was rated 3 stars so I figured I'd try it out.
Eh 
/10 moustaches. It's certainly better than most Sci-Fi or SyFy bombs nowadays. However it's still pretty bad. I'd recommend it to a Michael Rooker fan, like myself, or someone with some time to waste.
Now... about the movie it self. Micheal Rooker plays Ray Peleteir and takes his wife, his son Davia, and his son's girlfriend Gina, to a fishing cabin for vacation I guess. They notice that they aren't getting any fish and decide that something ate all the fish. Soon Steve Cote and his son join them on the ice and they begin bickering, but they must work together to defeat the monster in the ice below.
For the good things. THEY USE NO CGI DEATHS! Thank you! Some one with some fucking sense! The deaths and wounds actually look real. I liked the characters, except for Steve's son Stevie Jr., even for an annoying potty mouthed idiot I liked Steve. I didn't want to see them die because they actually took time to develop them and to build up tension by having the monster watch them as they talk. Though this movie is predictable I admit that I jumped at the scenes when the monster attacked.
Now... for the things that ruin this movie... The monster... look at it... just... just look at it...
THAT IS THE 2ND WORST FUCKING DESIGN I'VE EVER FUCKING SEEN! After all that build up, all we get is this shit?! Not only that but this creature's venom makes the victims see in it's vision... How the fuck is that possible? Did it set up a psychic link? Are they turning into the same species? The ending is pretty confusing. The creature attacks the two female cast members after it kills every male and just stands over them, swiping at them but not hitting them. She begs for mercy and it listens to them, after her dramatic speech is over the creature leaves and lets them live. And it ends right there! No explanation as to why these happened.
So yeah, I say it's better than the SyFy movies but it's still pretty bad. It's worth one watch on Netflix... No more. Bye!
Ummm, alright. The monster looks like Raditz, a disappointment. And why it left the girls alone, it possibly got angry at the guys for arguing and let the scared girls go. Or it was just ridiculous.
1035951 They did say something about territory, the males were definitely hostile to the creature. There was little to no arguing. The arguing started after it attacked and injured Stevie Jr and that was over whether they should've taken him to the hospital. They should've... but his father wouldn't let them....
