mid-story break (SotS) · 4:13pm Apr 6th, 2013
17 weeks of posting a new chapter every Saturday (and Thursdays at one point). I'm not gona lie, it has been fairly taxing and stressful to try and delivery a high quality chapter consistently every week. I spend around 3-4 hours every night dedicated to writing and editing, most of which goes into my current story, Shadow of the Sun.
But I've reached the point where I am starting to feel the burn out and it's getting harder and harder to want to edit.
So, I am going to take a mid-story break (as suggested by the title of this post). I don't know for how long, most likely at least a month but perhaps longer. I want to continue providing a story worth reading and I just don't feel like I can keep doing that right now.
This certainly isn't the end of Shadow of the Sun (well who knows, in the time I am gone everyone (almost wrote everypony there) might have jumped ship for a shipping story) and I do plan to see it through to the end (there is still some really neat stuff ahead). But for now, I just need some recovery time.
We'll still be here. Go relax for a bit.
If you need a break, you need a break, simple as that. Have fun chilling out for one, two, or maybe more months, we'll survive, and we'll rejoice when you come back.
You take as long as you need. You can't rush perfection. As much as us lot would love for it to keep going, we prefer quality over quantity. I wouldn't have been able to keep this up that long. So go, and take a well deserved break. You massively deserve it.
okay
Sorta ironic you burned out...... Get it?
Nah, I haven't jumped ship. Take a break if you need it. If I can wait for Half-Life 3, I can wait for this.
Oh god, that's a painful place to put a hiatus
