I believe I have done dreams as a topic before, but I don't think I got very in depth with them.
I mean...What are they?
The dictionary says it's "a sequence of images that appear involuntarily to the mind of somebody who is sleeping, often a mixture of real and imaginary characters, places, and events," Or "An Idle hope"
May understanding is that a dream consists of past events that culminate in the sub-conscious and shows itself once you "Dream", but....
What are they?
And more importantly...how do they even work? We close our eyes.....We fall asleep....And then strange images flash before our eyes somehow until we wake up. And for the most part, we forget what we even dreamed.
I'm told it takes a practiced mind to actually remember a dream. I'm told it could take years to learn to take control of them at will. I'm even told that Dreams simply take your life's experiences for the day or week, or whenever in your life, and reflects it to you.
Or....so I'm told.
Personally, I have always been able to remember, for the most part, my dreams. And yet only the most memorable ones stay with me throughout my life. From flying through a canyon using a magic cellphone. To playing with my old friends from my old neighborhood. My dreams have, without fail, been incredibly awesome at some points with their own stories, and incredibly weird at others.
I love my dreams, and I can't wait to see what I'll dream next. There are, however, a different kind of dream.
Nightmares.
What are they?
I'm told that they are culminations of your sub-conscious telling you of what you're afraid of. I'm also told that they are just your fears brought to life.
Or so I'm told.
This has always had some sort of controversy with me. I hate nightmares....but I like them too. I'm actually AWAKE in those dreams. And if I can control them....they become really great fun. I become a master of my fear.
More or less.
Sometimes though..dreams can get the better of you. They can make you see things you might want....or show you what you truly fear. And yet...why? (This question seems to plague me every week...)
Why do you see these "Dreams"? Is your mind trying to tell you something? Are you forgetting something important? And how the heck do they even work?
We may never know... but if we ever do find a dream that we really don't like....or one that we don't understand....
We can always dream a better dream.
So let's do that.
Dream a Better Dream my Friends. And Think Freely.
That was a good one
