The updates are coming Tuesday. Yeah, life got in the way again.
Anyway, S3 has ended, and as I've said, I'll be incorporating the elements that worked while ignoring any contradicting aspects. In what I have dubbed "The Fanfic Season", there was some that worked for me, and some that didn't. So, here's a brief overview:
The Crystal Empire: King Sombra's existence doesn't interfere with a plot I had in mind for the next story. Neither did the existence of the Crystal Ponies. In fact, Shining Armor and Cadence being assigned there could very well fit in with the ending of Families. Twilight's greatest fear needs to change, since it's based on Celestia hating her, a fear she has grown past in Post Nuptials.
Too Many Pinkie Pies: Stays the same.
One Bad Apple: Stays the same.
Magic Duel: Upon thinking, the Alicorn Amulet could fit in with the overall story. I've said before, I had Trixie in an antagonistic role, which I plan to keep the same. This episode will happen, but exactly how I haven't decided.
Sleepless in Ponyville: As you might guess, Scootaloo wanting to bond with Rainbow Dash is unnecessary, given that it's already happened in Families. Though, more or less, the trip still happened, though Scootaloo's reasons for keeping things a secret from Rainbow Dash will change.
Wonderbolt Academy: Stays the same.
Apple Family Reunion: Stays the same.
Spike at Your Service: This one's being ignored entirely, except that maybe Applejack saved Spike, and Spike did a few chores as thanks. I don't think anything would get Spike to leave Twilight after Families.
Keep Calm and Flutter On: Yeah, you can probably guess if you've read Metamorphosis. After everything Discord's done, I doubt Celestia could be so forgiving. This one's gone. I will say, though, I'm more open to Discord as a good guy after a thought, though I wish it had been better paced.
Just for Sidekicks: Stays the same, though it's explained that Spike didn't go to the Crystal Empire because it was strictly a business trip. And Spike never gives up Peewee.
Games Ponies Play: Stays the same.
Magical Mystery Cure: Yeah, I love the episode, but this contradicts everything I wrote about how alicorns work in the Nuptialverse. Ignoring it entirely.
Now then, on to other news: BronyRanger had made it a personal mission to get Post Nuptials an animated adaptation. I would be all over that...if I would be allowed to rewrite it, because, honestly, I cringe quite a bit when I read it today. I really want a chance to go back and redo it. This is, to me, one of the most important aspects of fanfictions and fanon. You can pick and choose what you want and do not want. As the writer, it is UP TO YOU to decide how you want the story to go. And if canon does not match up to what you need or desire, FUCK IT! it is YOUR story!
What was wrong with "Post Nuptials"?
God I love this post so much. I can't stand it when fanfic authors feel the need to completely retcon their ongoing stories because canon got pulled out from under them. Paet of the point of fanfiction is that you don't have to follow canon to a t, you can ignore whatever canon event you want to let a good story still be good.

On that note (and I'm talking to you, Darth Link), before I get ahead of myself and add "Creator Backlash" to the Trivia section of the TV Tropes page, I'm really looking forward to seeing what revisions you'd like to make to Post Nuptials. And if you don't plan on just telling us now, then please, for the love of all that is good and lucha, everyone get to work on getting that adaptation off the ground! More info on it is here. Animators, voice actors, it could use all the help it can get.
All in all, sounds like season 3 was much better to you than you were expecting. I know you were pretty worried at one point. How excellent. Can't wait for Tuesday.

Honestly, I think it only needs to be about half as long. Everypony didn't need their own chapter, it got too repetitive. And I think the dialogue was stilted in some places.

Also I am kind of glad you decided how to adapt season 3 to your stories as it shows how well you want your story to flow. I alos like how you manage to find a place for most of the episodes and still take in the awesome of Sleepless in Ponyville.
Didn't you said that in order to become an alicorn they needed to do a trial? Everything Twilight faced was her trial, she saved the world like 4 times.

It's only in the idea stage; it won't take off without all the animators they can get their hands on first. So spread the word, get more people involved, and help make it happen!

It really is one of those stories that I can get into, visualize everything that happens, and wish it really were in front of me, it's so awesome. I just don't have the skills or resources to arrange such a thing; I can voice act, but that's about it. So as you can imagine, not only does it feel great knowing someone else feels the same way I do, but they also have the will to make that happen. The seed is ready to fall, now we just have to be ready to plant it.

Well, yes, but the Trials as I wrote them are a very specific set of tests that require that the pony travel to a certain place to take them. Note how Cadance had to go on a trip in Honeymoon.

867892 Well, if we're going to get something exactly like the fic...we have the fic.
Also, the plan is to remove any and all hints to the rest of "The Nuptialverse", along with all the alcohol and lesbian references, to make it better fit with the canon and kid-friendly tone of the show. Note it's still in the planning stages, so this is all subject to change; as far as I'm concerned, no animators are on board yet, and voice actors are only just starting to take interest.

Oh, Didn't know that. So the plan would be to either remove or give closure to those problems that are continued on Families right on the spot? Though I'm a bit relunctant about that (I think it would be better doing the whole series, but hey, I'm not the director!), it's a good thing that this story is getting an adaptation
