I was wondering how Twilight would deal with this change to her life, it's a little more far-reaching then moving to Ponyville. I had figured that she would have self-doubts or discomfort about being thrust into such a role, but it looks like she's rather happy in these images.
As for Celestia/Luna, I doubt they're being displaced. After all, a sparkly new empire in need of its own dynamic duo of princesses conveniently appeared overnight. Cadence was the first to assume power in the Crystal Empire (which was left conveniently void by Sombra - just what did he do to the empire's previous royalty?) It stands to reason that her sister-in-law (convenient technicality), Twilight, would occupy the second-princess slot that's still open.
Which leaves an open issue - Twilight can't take all her friends with her, some of them have non-portable ties to Ponyville (unless that's conveniently erased when Twilight starts messing with reality in the final episode.) So are they going to explore the effects that long-distance has on friendships, or is Discord just going to drag Ponyville over to the Crystal Empire? Maybe that's why Celestia needed him as he's the only one who could pull off a stunt like that.
As for Twilight outliving her friends, well, now conveniently there's Age Spells. I wonder how Applejack and Rarity will feel after outliving their siblings, as "the circle of youth" can extend only so far, so ponies will feel hurt in that tangled web.
One more thought: will Rarity be jealous? She wanted to marry Blueblood to become a princess in the first season. She hasn't been a very sparkling example of generosity at all in the last couple of seasons, enough to make one wonder.
But the real question is: How will the clopfics adapt to her having wings and how will the gorefics adapt to her being being unkillable.

FYI, If Twilicorn was permanent, then that's that. It would have an effect on the remainder of the shows run, but it can work, provided the episodes have good writers and not the bad ones.
Twilight would be learning the ways of her Alicorn while learning to cop with the pros and cons of being such and/or he show could focus more on the rest of the main 6 as well as well as the CMC; the latter could provide room for some background ponies (like Vinyl Scratch for example) to have their own adventure instead of just remaining in the background.
If however, Twilicorn is temporary, a dream, or whatever, it will be disappointing
but hopeful that a permanent Alicorn would be in the works before the show ends (or could imagine it could happen after the time frame of MLP:FiM).
Then again, Fics like Ascend would remain in possible cannon as opposed to what if(AU) categories.
Yea, I wouldn't put it past Twilight to dream up some worst/best case scenario if she ends up with Luna's cutie mark, and Hasbro to be happy with two minutes in the show to support an entire toy line. Probably not going to happen, but we'll see.
