// 42. The Main Event: Diamond Tiara vs. Zephyr Breeze part 2

Previously, the big battle between Diamond Tiara and Zephyr Breeze has begun. Zephyr thought his Mega Pidgeot was something when it defeated Diamond's Pikachu. But, her Alolan Ninetales left the majestic Bird Pokémon in the cold. Then, Diamond's regular Ninetales was too hot for Vileu. Then, Zephyr called out Marowak. Ninetales used Fire Blast while Marowak used Bone Club. When the smoke cleared, both Pokémon were knocked out.
"Both Pokémon are unable to battle." The referee announced. "This match is a draw!"
"What a shock to everybody!" MC Allura said. "Both Ninetales and Marowak were eliminated. Now, Zephyr Breeze has three Pokémon left while Diamond Tiara has four."
Zephyr and Diamond recalled their Pokémon. They were both surprised with what happened.
"First time I ever had a draw in these battles." Diamond said.
"Double for me, babe." Zephyr replied as he takes out his next Poké Ball. "Here comes my fourth Pokémon. Go, Rapidash!"
Rapidash came out with it's mane flaming up. In the stands, Filthy and Spoiled Rich watched the action, cheering for their daughter.
"What kind of horse is that?" Filthy Rich wondered.
"That is Rapidash, the Fire Horse Pokémon." Spoiled answered.
"Oh yeah. Now, I remember. Must've raised it as a Ponyta."
Diamond is amazed with this choice. "I never knew you caught a Ponyta, Zephyr."
"I'm full of surprises" Zephyr proudly said. "Let's see what you got."
"You asked for it. Let's go, Starmie."
Starmie came out, spinning happily. The referee made the call. "This battle continues."
"Starmie," Diamond called out, "use Rapid Spin!"
Starmie spins fast towards Rapidash. But, Zephyr reacted fast. "Push it back, Rapidash with Double Kick!"
Rapidash kicked Starmie twice, forcing it back. This got Diamond worried.
"Let's hit it with Flame Charge!" Zephyr said. As Rapidash ran towards Starmie, Diamond strikes back. "Starmie, use Hydro Pump!"
The Mysterious Pokémon hit Rapidash fast and hard with it's stream of water. Taken off guard, Rapidash got dizzy, then fainted.
"Rapidash is unable to battle." The referee announced. "Starmie wins!"
"Starmie extinguished Rapidash 's fire as Zephyr is down to two Pokémon." Allura said to the crowd.
"Rapidash, return." Zephyr said. He makes another choice. "Here's my fifth Pokémon. Go, Slowbro!"
Diamond got concerned, remembering how Slowbro was effective at the Saffron City gym. "Better put the lid on this fast. Starmie, use Rapid Spin!"
Starmie started to spin. But, Zephyr struck fast. "Slowbro, use Zen Headbutt!"
With it's head glowing, Slowbro rushed to strike Starmie. After landing on the ground, it's central red jewel flashed, indicating that it's defeated.
"Starmie is unable to battle." The referee announced. "Slowbro wins!"
"Starmie, return." Diamond sadly said.
"This is not looking good for Diamond, folks." Allura said to the crowd. "How will she bounce back from this?"
After taking out another Poké Ball, Diamond answered the question. "By going big. Let's go, Venusaur!"
Venusaur landed and made the ground shake. She then rubbed her necklace. "This is what trust between a Pokémon and a trainer can accomplish." She then pressed the jewel. "Now, my blooming beauty. MEGA EVOLVE!"
Even Venusaur's mega evolution didn't startle Zephyr. "Time to take your green buddy down. Slowbro, use Water Pulse!"
Slowbro sprayed a strong stream of water, hoping Venusaur would be confused. But, it stood firm as Diamond strikes back. "Venusaur, use Razor Leaf!"
Venusaur showered Slowbro with a barrage of leaves. They were strong enough to knock out the Hermit Crab Pokémon.
"Slowbro is unable to battle." The referee announced. "Venusaur wins!"
"Mega Evolution comes through as Diamond brought Zephyr to his last Pokémon." Allura announced.
Zephyr recalls Slowbro and pulls out his last Pokémon. "We made it this far. Time to go all out. Go, Raichu!"
Raichu comes out. Knowing what Raichu is capable of, Diamond struck first. "Venusaur, use Razor Leaf!"
Venusaur aimed and fired it's leaves. Zephyr isn't worried. "Raichu, use Brick Break!"
Fighting the leaves, Raichu landed a big blow to Venusaur. Seeing moisture on the mega Pokémon, Zephyr took advantage. "Raichu, use Thunderbolt!"
Raichu shocked Venusaur so goo, it soon fainted and returned to normal.
"Venusaur is unable to battle." The referee announced. "Raichu wins".
"Venusaur, return." Diamond said. She then looks at her opponent. "I won't quit. Snowflake, back to action!"
As the Alolan Ninetales comes back out, Zephyr looks ready. "Bring it on."
"It's brought!" Diamond replied. "Snowflake, use Aurora Beam!"
The Alolan Ninetales fired it's rainbow beam at Raichu. But, Zephyr won't go down easily. "Raichu, use Brick Break!"
Raichu jumped up and struck down the Alolan Ninetales. Since ice types are vulnerable to fighting moves, the icy fox soon fainted.
"The Alolan Ninetales is unable to battle." The referee announced. "Raichu wins!"
"Now, Diamond is down to her last Pokémon." Allura said. "Will this help her in this battle?"
Silver and Babs looked with worry. So did her parents. Diamond soon made her choice. "Time to shine!"
Eevee walks up to challenge Raichu. Zephyr looks at Eevee with uncertainty. "You sure your little friend can tackle my Raichu, DT?"
"Never underestimate a Pokémon by its size." Diamond informed.
"We'll see about that. Raichu, use Thunderbolt!"
Raichu fired it's electrical attack. Diamond reacted quickly. "Dodge. Then, use Quick Attack."
After avoiding being zapped, Eevee gave a fast jab to Raichu. Diamond notices that Raichu looks exhausted from battling Venusaur and the Alolan Ninetales. She is ready for anything. 
"Okay, Eevee." Diamond calls out. "Use Swift!"
Eevee fired it's stars at the electric rodent. Zephyr isn't giving up. "Fight through, Raichu. Then, use Brick Break!"
Going through the Swift, Raichu is ready to strike at Eevee. But, Diamond launched a surprise. "Eevee, close the deal with DOUBLE KICK!"
Eevee kicked Raichu just as it was near. People watched with concern as Raichu tries to recover. After fifteen seconds, Raichu slowly fainted.
"Raichu is unable to battle." The referee announced. "Eevee wins. The winner and Kanto Region Champion is DIAMOND TIARA!"
"How about that, folks!" Allura shouted. "Diamond Tiara went through fought spots to win this important battle!"
Diamond was in shock. Then, she got excited. "I WON!!!"
Eevee jumped into her arms happily. Watching from Canterlot, Fluttershy was proud of her brother for trying. 
"I guess Zephyr did okay after all." Rainbow Dash admitted.
Back at the Kanto arena, Diamond stood with her healed up Pokémon as MC Allura stepped up with a microphone in her hand.
"Congratulations, Diamond Tiara." Allura said. "Against impossible odds, you become Kanto Champion."
Everybody cheered as Diamond Tiara was given the microphone.
"Thank you, everybody." Diamond said happily. "I want to thank my friends and family for supporting my journey. I couldn't have done this without all of you."
Babs Seed, Silver Spoon, and even Holly Prema came to hug Diamond. The former prissy girl shed tears of happiness. From another section of the building, Ash Ketchum and his Pikachu watched, and are impressed.
"This is a great day, Pikachu." Ash said. "I'll bet Brock and Misty are proud of her too."
Pikachu nodded as they leave. Later that night, a fireworks display was being shown to close the event. Diamond watched with admiration, knowing that this is a great moment. With her trophy by her side, she can't wait to return home to Canterlot to show everyone her great accomplishment. "Just wait until the Cutie Mark Crusaders see this."
