// 39. Last Trial of the Elite Four: Diamond Tiara vs. Lance 
// Story: Diamond's Pokémon Adventure

Diamond looks at a door with a dragon's head on it. Her companions are concerned for her.
"Are you sure about this, Diamond?" Silver asked.
"I'm positive, guys." Diamond answered. "My last opponent in this place is Lance. Once I defeat him, I'll be able to battle to become champion of the Kanto region."
"Don't forget," Babs added, "Lance is a trainer of Dragon types."
"I know. That's why I have a variety of Pokémon with me. I heard that some of those dragons have other traits."
The girls entered the room and see the environment like a medieval arena. Waiting for them is a red haired man wearing a black outfit and a red cape.
"Congratulations for making it this far, Diamond Tiara." Lance greeted.
"Thank you, sir." Diamond replied.
"I hope you're ready. Lorelei, Bruno, and Agatha are nothing compared to me."
"Believe me. I am prepared." 
A referee dressed like a court jester comes out. "Let this five on five battle begin."
"My first Pokémon," Lance announced, "will be Seadra!"
Out pops a sea horse with spiky wings on it's back. Diamond pulls out her Pokédex.
Seadra, the Dragon Pokémon. The Pokédex said. It can cause an underwater whirlpool strong enough to capsize a large boat.
Diamond made her first choice. "Let's go, Pikachu!"
Pikachu comes out. Lance is amused. "This will be too easy. Seadra, Twister!"
Seadra whipped up a tornado to scoop Pikachu. But, Diamond is not worried. "Pikachu, use Thunderbolt from that height."
Inside the Twister, Pikachu fired a bolt of lightning at Seadra. Though hit hard, Seadra is still standing.
"Seadra, let's short circuit Pikachu!" Lance commanded. "Use Dragon Pulse!"
The blast of dragon energy  caught Pikachu off guard. Pikachu was hit so fast, it fainted. 
"Pikachu is unable to battle." The jester announced. "Seadra wins."
Lance looked at Diamond with a vicious face. "Told ya."
Disappointed, Diamond recalled Pikachu. She soon makes her next choice. "Let's go, Magneton!"
The moment Magneton appeared, Lance got a little worried.
"Now, to shut YOU down." Diamond said.  "Magneton, use Discharge!" 
Magneton fired a charge of electricity at Seadra. The Thunderbolt from Pikachu weakened it enough for Discharge to finish the job.
"Seadra is unable to battle." The jester announced. "Magneton wins."
Seadra, return." Lance said. "That's what I get for underestimatimg you." He makes his next choice. "But, Electric attacks won't effect this one. Go, Aerodactyl!"
When Aerodactyl came out, Diamond realized that Lance was right. After recalling Magneton, she makes her next choice. "Let's go, Omastar!"
Lance was intrigued by the sight of Omastar. "A battle of Prehistoric Pokémon. This should be fun. Aerodactyl, use Ice Fang!"
With a mouth full of ice, Aerodactyl lunges to strike at Omastar. But, Diamond struck fast. "Omastar, use Rock Blast!"
Omastar fired rocks at the flying fossil. Though not much damage, the rocks pushed Aerodactyl back. 
"Let's do this, Omastar!" Diamond called out. "Hydro Pump!"
Omastar fired a blast of water at Aerodactyl. Being a rock type, the flying fossil soon fainted.
"Aerodactyl is unable to battle." The jester announced. "Omastar wins!"
"Return, Aerodactyl." Lance said. He soon made another choice. "You're going to need your Pokédex to learn of my third Pokémon. Go, Gyarados!"
Diamond was shocked to see this serpentine creature. Her Pokédex gave her some information.  Gyarados, the Atrocious Pokémon. Many legendary stories tell of how much destruction this Pokémon causes.
"Return, Omastar. I might need you later." Diamond said. She then brought out her next choice. "Magneton, back to action!"
Magneton came out and is buzzing for action. Diamond makes her first move. "Magneton, use Discharge!"
The Magnet Pokémon fired electric power at Gyarados. Even though hit hard, the mighty Pokémon still stands.
"Now, to ground your Magneton like Seadra defeated Pikachu." Lance informed. "Gyarados, use Twister!"
Gyarados caused a tornado under Magneton. While the Magnet Pokémon spins, Lance unleashed another attack. "Let's wash this triple sphere away with Hydro Pump!"
Gyarados blew water into the tornado. It was enough force to cause Magneton faint.
"Magneton is unable to battle." The referee announced. "Gyarados wins!"
Diamond sadly recalled Magneton. Seeing that Gyarados is sparking, she brings out her next Pokémon. "Let's go, Golem!"
Lance was amused to see this mighty rock. "This will be easy. Gyarados, use Hydro Pump!"
Gyarados was about to hit Golem. But, it was paralyzed from the electrical attack. Diamond decided to take advantage. "Let's bring down this serpent, Golem. Use Rollout!"
Spinning super fast, Golem rolled quickly to strike Gyarados. The impact was enough to knock this water creature out.
"Gyarados is unable to battle." The jester announced. "Golem wins!"
"Return, Gyarados." Lance said. He then turns to Diamond. "Don't be too confident because you still have three Pokémon and I only have two. I can still surprise you."
"I'm ready for whatever you got!" Diamond replied proudly.
"That's the spirit. My fourth Pokémon is Charizard!"
Charizard came out ready for a fight. Babs watches with interest. Me and Diamond haven't battled each other with our Pokémon. I wonder how she'll handle Charizard.
"Okay, Charizard." Lance called out. "Start off with Dragon Rage!"
Charizard blew a breath of Dragon energy to attack Golem. The mighty boulder held its own.
"Time to expose your Pokémon's weakness." Diamond said. "Golem, use Rock Slide!"
Golem sent a bunch of rocks to hit Charizard. Lance was shocked to see his Pokémon faint quickly.
"Charizard is unable to battle." The jester announced. "Golem wins!"
After recalling Charizard, Lance had a thought. "Well done, miss Tiara. Figuring my Charizard is partially a flying type, you figured that rock moves are super effective."
"I've been studying about Pokémon types before I came to Kanto." Diamond explained.
"And now, it's time for my fifth and final Pokémon. Go, Dragonite!"
A large dragon type creature came out. Shocked, Diamond pulls out her Pokédex.
Dragonite, the Dragon Pokémon. The Pokédex said.  Usually kind hearted. But, gets powerful when it gets angry. 
This got Diamond scared. "Uh oh."
"Dragonite," Lance called out, "use Aqua Tail!"
With it's tail covered in water, Dragonite swiped at Golem. The water was so powerful against Rock types, Golem lost balao, then fainted.
"Golem is unable to battle." The jester announced. "Dragonite wins!"
"Golem, return." Diamond sadly said. She then prepares for a comeback. "Omastar, back to action!"
The prehistoric Pokémon came back out. This intrigued Lance. Diamond makes her move. "Omastar, Spike Cannon, FIRE!"
Omastar fired spikes at Dragonite. While the mighty dragon recovers, Diamond followed it up. "Now, use Hydro Pump!"
As Omastar fired the stream of water, Lance made a big move. "Dragonite, use Thunder Punch on that water!"
Dragonite energized fist with electricity. Then, punched on the water. The shock carried on to Omastar. The electric power is enough to make it faint.
"Omastar is unable to battle." The jester announced. "Dragonite wins!"
Lance was pleased as Diamond recalled Omastar. Her friends were getting worried.
"This leaves you with one Pokémon left." Lance said. "Who will be your last choice?"
Seeing Dragonite looks worn out from Omastar's Spike Cannon and Hydro Pump, Diamond chooses her last Pokémon. "Let's go, Snowflake!"
The Alolan Ninetales came out. Lance was surprised. "You have an Alolan Ninetales?"
"That's right." Diamond replied. "This beautiful Pokémon will help me win this battle."
"I don't think so! Dragonite, use Slam!"
Dragonite jumped up to flatten Snowflake. Diamond quickly reacted. "Dodge it. Then, use Ice Beam!"
After avoiding Dragonite's landing, the Alolan Ninetales fired it's super cold beam. As Dragonite tries to recover from the cold, Diamond unleashed her next surprise. "Let's finish this with DAZZLING GLEAM!"
Snowflake soon flashed brightly. The light was intense enough to cause Dragonite to faint.
"Dragonite is unable to battle." The jester announced. "The Alolan Ninetales wins. The winner of this battle is Diamond Tiara!"
"Way to go, Snowflake!" Diamond cheered as she hugs her Pokémon. 
Lance recalled his Dragonite and approached her. "You have done well, Diamond Tiara. I can see the bond that you have with your Pokémon. With my defeat, you can now face the Champion."
"So, who is the champion?" Diamond asked.
"I'll tell you." Said an old man's voice.
Diamond and her friends were surprised to see Professor Oak come along.
"Professor Oak!" Diamond gasped. "What are you doing here?"
"I've come to see how you're doing." Oak replied. "You came a long way since you connected with Eevee."
Both Diamond and Eevee blushed. Professor Oak gave her some information. "Before you came along, your rival came and defeated the Elite Four already."
"WHAT?!" Diamond shockingly said. "Zephyr Breeze was here?"
"Indeed. Zephyr and his Pokémon came and defeated these great trainers as well."
"There's a small village near here with a stadium next to it." Lance informed. "That's where the battle between you and Mr. Breeze will take place."
Professor Oak and Lance made a good point. This could be Diamond's toughest test yet.
